JUNE 2007 - YART’S GRAND OPENING AN UNQUESTIONABLE SUCCESS
The parking lot was full and the entire length of Merchant Road was lined with cars as hundreds from New Mexico and Colorado turned out to enjoy the funky and sophisticated atmosphere of YART’s Grand Opening celebration this Saturday.
People lounged in comfortable retro chairs in the shade while listening to the mellow tunes of The Random Family Bluegrass Band, sipping bottled water adorned with the YART logo, munching on fruit-kabobs, homemade cupcakes, and veggies and dip. People chatted amiably with each other about everything from the unique merchandise, Soup the YART dog, the beautiful exterior plaster work, the band, the lovely atmosphere and everything in between. YART’s publicist, Whitney Glenn, sat quietly in the midst of the crowd with her book, listening to the ebb and flow of conversation around her. Everyone had something to say about YART, and every word was positive.
YART owners and staff blended effortlessly with the community who in turn made themselves truly at home at YART. So many people are a part of YART; some who moments before had been sitting with food and conversation were next refilling the food trays or bringing out more water bottles. The transitions were seamless, the food and drink were endless, and the music was perfect—catchy and fun to listen to, yet blending easily into the background of conversations. Everyone was a part of YART.
