Debora Gale

Hello, My name is Debora gale. I was born in 1956 and have lived on the Mississippi Gulf Coast (hurricane alley) my whole life. I come from a long line of dreamers, adventurers, beach lovers, and all around nature lovers. As a child I spent every moment possible outside under the trees making straw houses and mud pies or playing on the beach in search of treasure.

When I grew up I became the mother of three beautiful sons. When they were older I took a job as a teacher's assistant. I loved working with the children and with their creativity. I did this for ten years until I came down with chronic fatigue syndrome and was unable to work.

In my search for healing, wholeness, and joy, I heard a voice say, "You have everything you need." So I opened my eyes and saw what was right in front of me, where I had been, and what I knew for sure in my heart. And I began creating with old metal and driftwood that I had in my yard.

Today I search our Hurricane Katrina battered Coast for palm tree fronds. As I work with the fronds I feel that each has a unique and powerful story of survival to tell. My hope is to bring healing peace and joy to myself and all that see my artwork.
