I have spent most of my life in the southeast – born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Georgia. I graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. I returned to school in 1982 for a Radiologic Science Degree (x-ray technology) and I have been working in imaging ever since.

I visited Taos in the 70’s when I stayed at Ghost Ranch with a friend. I fell in love with the big sky, endless horizon, and rocky multi-colored landscape. I moved to Taos four years ago and thoroughly enjoy the uniqueness of this area. I live in an earthship with a view of Taos Mountain and I cannot imagine being anywhere else.

I have been involved with art most of my life. My grandmother was a kindergarten teacher and she was always creating costumes, stuffed animals, and crocheted jewelry. I followed her example in having my main interest in tactile arts – ceramics, weaving, jewelry, and dollmaking. I started my work in stained glass about 17 years ago in Colorado. I currently create stained glass stepping stones inspired by southwest images. My pieces are made with opaque glass set onto concrete stones. They are intended to be outside decoration and will stand up to most weather extremes. I also make stained glass horseshoe art. My crosses are made by welding five horseshoes together. I create abstract patterns with brilliant colors and texture to contrast with the roughness of the horseshoes. I prefer used horseshoes to give the crosses a rustic appearance. Copper foil and solder holds the glass in place. I also make single horseshoe suncatchers. All of my pieces can be hung outside if desired.
