Multimedia Art Mirrors

"Discovering fun things about recycling clothing and fabric is my thing these days. I have experimented with so many mediums in art, but I found this to be one of the most fun! I sculpt fabric, clothing, sometimes leaving the zippers or buttons on, with a solution that stiffens and hardens it around mirrors and masks. I make a frame on the mirrors and combine wood, ceramics and found objects, as well as paint to make a whimsical and fantastical mirror.

"I started to make masks this year, using the same fabric sculpting technique and using my Grandma's old holey and stained, embroidered, linen table cloths, as well as t-shirts and jeans, too.

"I love art in many forms, constantly exploring new ideas. I believe it is the part of my life that keeps the child alive and that it is essential to have art and creativity in my life.

"Please enjoy and feel free to touch them, as well! It is a tactile experience."

Cheers!
Mary
